Greetings. all and thanks again to Frances for putting the Bulletin together. It doesn’t just happen. It is a crafted thing, and Frances does the crafting.

Our meeting on the 17th this month will be at the Criterion. It’s going to be the whisky tasting night so, once again, if you have any friends who enjoy a dram, bring them along as guests. We’ll have food platters to accompany the whisky samples. It should be a great night. Looking forward to hearing Sven talking about the Electric Garden Project.
Thank you to Michael Robinson for lending a hand last Friday afternoon with the first big load of donated books for next year’s Bookarama. And while we are recognising support, thanks to all those involved with the Don Brash, the team on the night, Alan for driving the Diabetes fundraiser and particularly Paul for the plane and the Andersons for their hosting. As I said at our last meeting, Don Brash really appreciated the hospitality he received. He said he “felt like royalty” here so take a bow all those who helped to make it that way.
And a special thank you to District Governor, Andrew Hamilton for speaking at our last meeting and presenting such a great address.
That’s it for now. Still working on a speaker for the 31st (our 3rd meeting this month) which will be at the Brydone. Don’t forget our Christmas Party this year will be out at Ele's. Much fun guaranteed. More on that in good time, tra la la la la, la la la la.
See you next Wednesday - Jim H

Stroke Foundation Blood Pressure Campaign
Great work to everyone who helped out last weekend at the annual Stroke Foundation Blood Pressure Campaign.
The Rotary Club of Oamaru assisted in this blood pressure campaign, in conjunction with New World. This has been great PR for Rotary Clubs, as well as helping provide a valued public service.

Pumpkins, pumpkins... and more pumpkins
The Rotary Club of Oamaru and the Waitaki Community Gardens are inviting people to take part in a mass pumpkin-growing project.
Rotarian, Gordon Martin has grown at least 250 pumpkin seedlings to prepare for the project.
An open day for people to pick up pumpkin seedlings was held over the weekend at the Waitaki Community Gardens.
The aim of the exercise is to grow pumpkins to be made into soup and distributed to the community. Soup will be shared among organisations including the Oamaru Food Bank and the Oamaru Hospital.
