Greetings one and all, and a most extremely Happy New Year in case you missed it the first time round.
Well, with our first meeting for 2019 just a week away it's time for a few directions. As mentioned in this year’s first Club Runner catch up, it's going to be an outdoor meeting or, more precisely, a meeting with what the real estate agents love to call indoor/outdoor flow,.
We’ve arranged a visit to Rod Tempero’s fantastic workshop just south of Oamaru. I called in to see him earlier this month and the work he’s got on the go at the moment, including Ferrari and Alfa builds for clients here and overseas, is really interesting. Anyone interested in sheds, cars, craftsmanship or business acumen will find something to fire the imagination.
We’ll meet at Rod’s next Wednesday, 30 January, at the usual time, 5.30. Rod will take us through the workshops - yes, there’s more than one - then we’ll have fish and chips and there’ll be the option of beverages too.
Cost will be $15 for the tour and tucker, plus a bit more if you’re thirsty.
In case you don’t know where Rod’s business is, it’s on the left hand side of SH1, just south of the whitestone column and Maudes Road. Look for the proud flags flying. If you go through the railway underpass or see the Whitestone Contracting sign you’ve gone too far.
As I said last time, this could be a great opportunity to bring a friend, let them see a pretty special operation and introduce them to our Rotary family, so please feel free to invite an guest and bring them with you. Also, if you’ve got any special dietary requirements that fish and chips don’t suit, please let us know and we’ll cater accordingly.
See you on Wednesday.
P.S. FYI, the first meeting in February will be at the Galleon, Full details next week.
