Valley of Whales 4WD Fundraiser

Thanks to the generosity of Brock and Gemma Hamilton we have been given access to their property on the Awamoko Creek at Island Cliff to run a 4WD fundraising tour to go off the beaten track to view rock art, see a swaggers cave, look for fossils, and have a look at the modern farming operation - so Rotarians are getting the first chance to buy a ticket for the inaugural event.

We are limiting tickets to just fifteen vehicles so get in quick as the 4WD clubs will have next option from Friday, and the general public from Sunday.

Tickets are $50 per vehicle which includes free towing if that is necessary. If you have spare seats in your 4WD please email me on, and if you would like to attend but don't have a 4WD then also email me and I will match spare people to spare seats.

The four-wheel driving is entry level (a high 2WD ute would do it) and it will only take an afternoon so it is easy and accessible, but a short, steep walk on uneven ground is required to reach the sites below the cliffs.

To manage health and safety on the farm there are a few requirements. A health and safety briefing will be held at 1.30pm. Drivers need a full drivers license, the vehicle must be warrantable, and there needs to be a safe place to tow the vehicle on the front and back. Insurance is the responsibility of the vehicle operator, as is any damage to their own, or other vehicles that occurs while on the property. Seatbelts must be worn. A first aid kit and fire extinguisher will be available in the lead vehicle. The main hazards are steep drop-offs, electric fences, and lack of cell phone coverage. The full list is available here:
